How To Change A Tire In 7 Easy Steps

Changing a tire is one thing you don't need until you are stranded in the middle of nowhere and suddenly need it. That's why we have made a step-by-step blog with instructions on how to change a tire, as easy as it can be.

1. Make Sure You Have Everything You Need

While it may sound funny, make sure you have everything needed for the job, especially the spare tire. If your vehicle has been owned before, it's common for the spare tire to be missing because it takes up a lot of space. Also, make sure you have a kickstand and a lug nut wrench.

2. Park The Car

Park the car at a safe location, ideally a parking lot. The side of the road also works, but make sure that you won't be surprised by a passing car.

3. Loosen The Lug Nuts A Little

Loosen the lug nuts but don't completely remove them yet. When the car is on the ground, it is much easier to loosen them because the wheel begins to spin if it's in the air.

4. Jack-Up The Car

Locate the jacking points. There are several reinforced points on your vehicle meant for jacking the car. If you choose a random spot, you can damage the undercarriage, so be careful.

5. Remove The Tire

Remove the lug nuts completely and remove the tire. You can place the flat tire under the car in case it falls off the jack stands.

6. Install The New Tire

Get the spare tire and mount it. Put the lug nuts on and tighten them by hand, but make sure they are secure and won't fall out when you lower the car.

7. Lower The Car And Make Sure The Tire Is Secure

The first step is lowering the car and tightening the lug nuts with the wrench. Just to make sure everything is secure, give the tire a good shake.
